On Friday at about six in the morning, offficers from the Elmira Police Departments midnight shift responded to the 500 block of Spaulding Street for a report of a burglary in Progress.
When police arrived, the victim advised that the suspect had kicked in his door, took property from within the residence and left on foot. Officers quickly responded and located the suspect less than a block away, holding on to some of the stolen property.
The subject resisted arrest but was subsequently taken into custody. The victim’s property, consisting of credit cards, a Playstation and other personal items were returned to
the owner.
As a result of this investigation the suspect 35 year old Jezmine Wells of Elmira, was charged
