A Southport man is facing arson charges after allegedly setting a shed on fire.
According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Department, on May 26th and 27th, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a vacant property located at 55 Hampton Road, in the Town of Southport, for a shed being set on fire.
As a result, 26-year old ole J. Bowman of Hampton Road in the Town of Southport was charged with Arson in the 3rd Degree, a Class C Felony Offense of the New York State Penal Law.
Sheriff William Schrom says Bowman was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Southport Court on a later date.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Town of Southport Fire Department and the
Chemung County Fire and Emergency Management Department.
