Sayre, Pa. – Guthrie is pleased to announce that Terri Couts, SVP, Chief Digital Officer for The Guthrie Clinic, has been named one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s Women in Health IT to Know for 2023.
The list celebrates the women who are helping to improve health care using information technology (IT). Their work is instrumental to the elevation of the patient journey, the standardization of processes, the implementation of telehealth initiatives and more.
“As Guthrie’s first Chief Digital Officer, Terri provides vision, strategic leadership, and oversight of Guthrie’s IT strategy,” said Dr. Edmund Sabanegh, Guthrie President and CEO. “Becker’s Hospital Review recognized her for this work, and for bringing together people, processes, and technology to support our vision of being the most trusted health care partner in the communities we serve.”
Couts was the first to be appointed to the position in 2022. In that role, she oversees the health care system’s adoption of digital technologies across the organization, transforming business strategy using technology and data, and influencing how people, processes, and technology can enable The Guthrie Clinic’s vision.
Terri was also recognized for her leadership in redefining health care delivery through virtual care and remote patient monitoring at the Guthrie Pulse Center, which recently earned ECRI’s Health Technology Excellence Award.
