Three men were arrested on kidnapping and other charges after an incident in Van Etten.
According to New York State Police, the department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation based out of Horseheads investigated an incident that occurred in February 2023 in the town of Van Etten. There, three men allegedly displayed a firearm while stealing several firearms from a victim. The victim was then forcibly removed to another location while being threatened with a firearm.
Subsequent to the investigation, state police arrested 37 year old Joseph M. Howell, 41 year old David C. Maycumber and 46 year old Michael P. Inman all of Newfield.
The three were charged with Robbery 1st (B Felony) and Kidnapping 2nd (B Felony).
All three defendants were arraigned in the Town of Big Flats Court and committed to the Chemung County Jail while awaiting further court proceedings.
