Elmira Pioneers Make It To PGCBL West Division Championship

ELMIRA – The Elmira Pioneers Baseball team has won a home playoff game and now advance to the West Division Championship for the first time since 2017 in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.

The Pioneers have had a great season, constantly battling for first place in the West division of the PGCBL, ultimately ending in 2nd place. On Sunday night, July 30th, the team was able to defeat the Jamestown Tarpskunks 7-0 to secure another home playoff game. The Elmira Pioneers made the playoffs in 2022 as the 4th seed with a road playoff game.

One of the owners of the team, Nellie Nichols, has stated multiple times throughout the season how grateful she is for the great group of players the team has this season: “Not only are they good at baseball, but they’re such a good group of guys as well.” The players are seen singing autographs and taking pictures with fans before and after the games, showing the great group the Pioneers have here.

The playoff game will be played on Monday, July 31st at 6:35 PM. Doors will open at 5:30 PM at Dunn Field in Elmira. Tickets to the game will be free thanks to Blaze Brockway Contracting.
