Police Investigate Shooting In Elmira

ELMIRA – On Wednesday morning at approximately 12:48 AM Elmira Police Department responded to the 200 block of Juanita Street for a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers located the victim who was unwilling to provide any details of the incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he received treatment for and is recovering from his injuries.

After several attempts by EPD Investigators the victim in this incident has refused to be interviewed or cooperate with the investigation.

The Elmira Police Department was assisted by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office and the West Elmira Police Department during the initial investigation.

  1. Why can’t we run the gangs and gang related people out of this City? They are only here because of their partners being in prison, their families come here to visit and stay. Why can’t we banish criminals in gangs and drug dealers from here. They do not belong in our once more peaceful and inviting Elmira town. Ask the Mayor and law makers if we can make some kind of law to do so.
