ELMIRA – The Southside Community Center will host a debate for all candidates running for Elmira City Council, District 6 on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
The debate is open to the public and all residents of the City of Elmira and local news media outlets are invited and encouraged to attend. The Southside Community Center is located at 215 Partridge Street in Elmira, New York.
Three candidates are running for the 6th District Seat on the Elmira City Council, a position currently held by Nan Moss.
Independent candidate, Craig Colwell, who ran a campaign for Chemung County Legislator in 2022, is on the ballot.
Independent candidate and registered Republican, Kevin Sullivan is also on the ballot.
Then incumbent, Nan Moss is seeking election for a third term in office. She has served on the City Council since 2015.
According to a press release sent to Elmira Telegram, an invitation to the debate has been extended to all three candidates. However, at the time of this news story, only Colwell and Sullivan have accepted.
Andrew Roosa-Decicco, co-owner of Copy Express, has agreed to act as debate moderator.
