ELMIRA – In late September, deputies from the Chemung County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home on Thompson Street in the Town of Southport for a reported possible burglary in progress. When deputies arrived, the suspects had fled the scene. However a nearby witness had observed and managed to film the vehicle in which they got away in.
Deputies investigated and found that a burglary had in fact taken place at that address. Upon further investigation, the vehicle was located and the occupants identified.

As a result, police located 30 year old Timothy J. Hodge II of Elmira and interviewed him. After the interview and obtaining more evidence, a warrant for his arrest was obtained by police. Hodge was arrested on Friday and charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, a Class C felony as well as 4th Degree Grand Larceny, a Class E felony.
Hodge is currently in Chemung County Jail awaiting his next court date.
