ELMIRA, NY – As flu season begins to ramp up in our region, Arnot Health is once again offering vaccinations to our community. Individuals aged 18 and over are welcome to get
either or both an influenza vaccine and a COVID-19 vaccine.
At this time, Arnot only offers the Moderna vaccine against COVID-19.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone 6 months of age or older get a COVID-19 vaccine now available. Vaccination remains the best protection against COVID-19-related hospitalization and death. Vaccination also reduces your chance of suffering the effects of Long COVID, which can develop during or following acute infection and last for an extended duration. If you have not received a COVID-19 vaccine in the past 2 months, get an updated COVID-19 vaccine to protect yourself this fall and winter.
Pre-registration is encouraged by calling (607) 737-4499. Please bring a copy of your insurance card, front and back, with you. Walk-ins are welcome.
The clinics will take place on the follow dates:
- Friday, November 3 – 9 am to 1 pm – Arnot Ogden Medical Center – Petrie West
- Saturday, November 4 – 9 am to 1 pm – Arnot Ogden Medical Center – Petrie West
- Tuesday, November 7 – 9 am to 1 pm – Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital – Conference room
- Monday, November 13 – 9 am to 1 pm – Elm Chevrolet, 222 East Church St., Elmira – 9 am to 1 pm
The normalization of healthcare providers “welcoming” healthy 18 year olds to personally decide as to whether they need to get a flu and/or COVID shots is crazy. The fact that absolutely no healthcare providers will publicly recommend that healthy 18 year olds not to receive Either shot is alarming to me! And then the cdc wants infants 6 months old or older to start getting these shots mind blowing to me. ymmv. I missed you all. 🙂
